Interview with Norihiro Yagi and Akihisa Ikeda (from 2008)

Once upon a time I said that we'll never get three releases in three days ever again. If there is one thing life has taught me it's that one should never use words like 'never'. Here, gentle readers, is the interview with Norihiro Yagi and Akihisa Ikeda from the R+V databooks. It's old, from 2008, but has some fun stuff about the atmosphere of Yagi's studio and his thoughts on the Claymore anime.

Eternal gratitude to our wonderful translators, Utsune and Rigarudo, and to Indigo for helping with the cleaning. In particular, I'd like to thank Utsune for helping me track this down from the references on Yagi's Japanese wikipedia page and confirming from the Amazon reviews that it existed. See how far we go to bring you quality content?

Enjoy!

PS. My Japanese has progressed the the point where I can do tiny spot translations of things I can guess the meaning of! See the little works bio of Yagi on page 3? That was me ^^ Took me, like, an hour and I got stuck on the Ikeda one. Next up: databooks!

Lost Rememberance Doujinshi

I have a theory: releases come in bunches. it doesn't matter how hard I try to stagger things or spread them out, they'll all somehow manage to be done at the same time. Look back at our release history if you don't believe me.

Anyway, here's a snazzy doujinshi Goral found somewhere on Baidu. Thanks, as always, to MiniMp3 for translating. KCU has moved out so I can't negotiate proofreading in exchange for housework anymore ;_;

Enjoy!

The Warrio's Wedge Scene 14 (final)

There's a nice long acknowledgements note at the end of the chapter so all I'll say here is Jojo asked me what western fans think of his doujinshi. I've been screenshotting various forums where people talk about it to share the love. That said, if you want to tell him yourself his Baidu bar is here. He's a nice guy, I'm sure he'll appreciate it :)

Anyway, here's the chapter. Enjoy!

The Warrior's Wedge Scene 13

I told you it would be out quickly >:)

Kudos to mah kru, Jojo Lii, MiniMp3, KCU, and Varete for everything they do to make this scanlation a thing. <3 You guys :)

-Number A

PS. I know in 12 it said 13 would be the last chapter. It's not, 14 is. IDK what happened there but I suspect it ended up longer than Jojo expected and he had to split it. I know we could have changed the text under the Teresa pic to reflect that but, like, I figured translation accuracy was more important than not confusing people. Anyway, here's the chapter:

The Warrior's Wedge Scene 12

This is the part where the story actually starts to be about Teresa. It's very exciting :D

Thanks, as always to Jojo Lii for being there to consult, MiniMp3 for translating (seriously guys she's the reason this scanlation is a thing), KCU for proofreading, and Varete for typesetting. CLEXA LIVES ON :)

Anyway, here's the chapter. Enjoy!

PS. On the last page where it says "Final chapter coming July 25th" it's talking about the release date of the Chinese original and not the scanlation which I'm hoping will be ready sometime in the next few days.

The Warrior's Wedge Scene 11

Hello folks~! Spring is in the air (in the northern hemisphere anyway) and, logically, that means that a new Wedge chapter is ready for those of you patient enough to tolerate our slow release schedule~! Gratitude as always to the magnificent and uber-talented Jojo for putting up with me not always getting what's going on, MiniMP3 for translating this, KCU for checking the translation (and for cleaning the kitchen), and to Varete for her beautiful typesetting (if anything is screwed up it's because I tried to edit it).

Enjoy!

Desert Punk 86 (9/9) - vol. 13 complete

Chapter 86
Batoto | Mediafire | Boxnet

imagebam.com

It's the last chapter of volume 13. Huge thanks to Ikkyusan for translating it and Teriguu for cleaning it. Now to the part that probably interests you the most - zek777 has volunteered to translate a couple of Desert Punk chapters. He's Vietnamese and his Japanese and English aren't perfect so be considerate. Since my English is probably even worse I won't be able to help much in terms of proofreading. I assume that won't be a problem though since the difference between having a translation and not having it is colossal :].

As for volume 15, there is a possibility to hire a professional translator (one that some groups hire) but we'll see how it goes and whether there would be people willing to help in such capacity but that's far away from now. Of course it would be best if someone would dump translation of all the volumes but that's unrealistic. As far as I can tell translating 1 DP volume by a manga fan who also translates as a professional would cost 150-200$.  That's both cheap and expensive. Cheap, because we're talking about a guy who takes a lot more money for translating professionally and he gives a huge discount (especially for a manga that he's not interested in) and expensive since I wouldn't be willing to finance it myself.

That's our current situation. Tell me what you think about it.

Desert Punk 85 (8/9)

Chapter 85
Batoto | Mediafire | Boxnet

imagebam.com

This is the penultimate chapter. We're still looking for a Japanese to English translator for volume 14, 15, 16 and 17.

As previously, you can bump the DP thread on reddit, maybe we will have luck there and find some help. Last time someone there has declared to help, we'll see how that goes.

Edit: There has been a slight change to page 167 (16) so I've reuploaded the chapter.

Desert Punk 82 (5/9)

Batoto | Mediafire | Boxnet

imagebam.com

Not much has changed since the last time, we only have translation for volume 13, volumes 14, 15, 16 and 17 (yes, there is even volume 17 now) will most likely remain untranslated. And as you can see with this chapter, things are only getting interesting. It's a shame really and it's one of the reasons why it took me so long to release the next chapter. If this manga was more popular some other group would have already released all these volumes by now.

BTW, if anyone has volumes 12 and 13 backed up upload them to Mediafire/Boxnet/Dropbox and share them here please. I have the original files somewhere (I think :P) but it would take me a lot of time to find it (I could also just download Batoto version which unlike other aggregate manga sites has the latest version of the chapters). Unfortunately 2shared links don't work anymore (for the most part).

The Warrior's Wedge Scene 10

This chapter is dedicated to number12michael of Mangahelpers. He'll know why ^^

Mad props, as always, to MiniMP3, Varete, and the superbly tolerant KCU. I'll clean the flat today, I promise.

Happy new year!
