Chapter 133

Chapter 133:

Here's MiB version of 133 Claymore chapter. No nipple nor nostril have been lost during cleaning process (contrary to MS version ;P) but that's the only advantage over MS's version (well, there is also the fact that we do not use annoying watermarks and they made a mistake with one of the words writing it 3 times instead of 1). Not that many people will read this anyway ;P. We're back to good old days when only a dozen people or so were downloading our version. Thanks for your support.

Oh, and be sure to thank and congratulate Gernot for his 50th Claymore translation.

For those interested here are 3 different version of the coloured page that came from 3 different scans of the raw:

Here is a QS version of the scanlation. I've also added "biki" on the last page which I've somehow omitted and resized page 8.

  2. Thanks! A good manga like this deserve to be stored on HD with proper file and format. I read MS version purely because it's out first.

    Anyway, keep it coming!

  6. First of all thanks for the release.

Also I have no problems what so ever with your translation but don't you think "High-speed Sword" should be "Quicksword" since that was what is was called before.

    1. I've referred to that in one of my posts on MH. "Quick" is a more general term and Gernot's version is more accurate name of the technique (you can check it yourselves via online dictionaries). And since it's the first time the name of this technique has been mentioned since over 40 chapters it's not like Gernot is being inconsistent. He just used more literal translation and to me it's the proper one (hence I didn't even point out to him that 10sigh used such term).

    2. The official translation is Quick Sword, so I think that is what should be used. Not to mention the data book has Quick Sword... haha.

    3. "Official" is often wrong so your argument is worthless, with all due respect. One of the recent examples can be found in volume 21 (page 111) for example where translator over-interpreted and wrote that Roxanne plucked her own eye out even though the text says she only lost it - it doesn't say how. The same goes for Ilena vs. Irene and there are many, many other examples (and much more blatant).

Last but not least, official Italian translation uses "Flash Sword" (according to MalakTawus) so why not use that (that's rhetorical question in case you would be inclined to answer)?

Anyway, I've asked Gernot about it and he said I can change it to "quicksword" so in the version 2 of the scanlation you will have it your way.

    4. But for the record, it amazes me to see people claiming that less accurate translation should be used just because it's the one used in Viz version.

As well as you saying that the databooks have quicksword. The word used for it (高速剣) is the same as in chapter 133 so it's still "high-speed sword".

    We love yours better.

  10. I've made the migration to your version, and since I'll be sure you'll release it more consistently, I'm inclined to stay.
I love MS, it's true, but I think it's time we saw other people.

Also, I prefer quicksword, as it is the cooler-sounding name, while high-speed sword may be more accurate, I think they're both "correct". "Quicksword" with a note "lit. high-speed sword" would have been best, imo.

  11. Thank You for the translations!! From last few months I havent touched MS even for the top three weekly Jump titles.
Claymore is one of the few mangas for which I wait for a quality release unlike my shonen titles.

Once again, thanks a lot for the release.
Also, congrats to Gernot for reaching half century.....All the best for 100!

  20. In the "Anime EP 07" the dub is "Quick Sword". So its weird for old fan boys to see new translation on that.

  21. I have preffer your version. Your image quality is great, and you really keep a close attention to the semantic of the translation. I am learning japanese and I know that we are missing a lot because of "too free" translation.
    Thank you for your work

    1. No problem, although I don't see how it helps. It should suffice for you to know that the version in the edited post is the most updated one.

    2. Sometimes I can't seem to remember if the version I downloaded previously was before or after an edit. Unless there's some part of the site UI I'm missing. And I'm not familiar enough with how the mirror sites work to know if the URL of an updated version would change either. :P
