Chapters 93-123 (Batch download)

Rapidshare | IFile.it | BayFiles

I thought that maybe a batch file would interest some of you. Downloading 20 chapters one by one isn't too convenient. There's also unified name system which could be useful. And DO NOT UNPACK IT, it's unnecessary. Use this awesome program (called Manga Meeya). There is also PicWalker which has some better and some worse features than MM and even though it's very old it's much better than CDisplay. Here's alternative link for PicWalker.

  1. Me too, I still use the ol' but good CDisplay.

  2. Quivie < CDisplay < CDisplayEx << Manga Meeya or PicWalker. Seriously, you should try it. Both PicWalker and MM 2.4 have more options than the ones you've mentioned, they also use less HDD space or resources (especially PicWalker). They also work perfectly on Linux with wine. One of the best options they have is continuous pages (which are activated by pressing “C”) or MMCE 2.4 thumbnail mode (which is activated by pressing “T”). This mode makes reading much more convenient and makes reading really comfortable. Overall MM 2.4 would be my choice, MM 7.4b is an improved version of MM 2.4 but it also has some flaws (is less stable and doesn't have continuous pages mode, although there are plugins that can help with that). PicWalker would be perfect if not for the fact that because it's so old it has old codecs and it sometimes has a problem opening newer .rar archives (with .zip or other files it has no problem at all and most of the time it opens .rars too).

    @Kamugin
AFAIR CDisplay couldn't open archives in archives, right? I highly recommend it. I'm pretty sure once you try it you will switch to it. If you want old version (2.4) here's a safe link to Mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/?eeyhmyhxzmz

  3. Yes, CDisplay can't do that and it's annoying sometimes. CDisplayEx can do it but not always. So, in the rare occasions when I find such files, I just unpack the separate chapters in a proper folder and delete the original file since there is almost no difference in size before and after. I also have tried MMCE 2.4 too. What I dislike in those programs is that they don't have a full screen mode without toolbars and/or they by default resize the viwed page to fit the window. I prefer to view the full size page to get the best of the scanned files. However the main reason because I don't change is that I'm pretty used to CDisplay navigation and they changed it in the "improved" versions: I can use the mouse wheel to scroll down and up, when the bottom of a page is reached the next one is displayed also I have the option to use the arrows to scroll a page up, down, right or left without changing the page displayed. I can use page down to advance one page without scroll or page up to retrogress. By pressing "P" I open the thumbnail mode. Shif + L opens the next chapter, shift + K opens the previous one, also I can save a page as a single image file if I want. Why do I need more options than that? CDisplay isn't perfect but sometimes less is better than more. I also keep CDisplayEx as an additional option, but I almost never make use of it.

    lol
Of course you can view it without toolbars or anything. And all you have to do to view it by default in a original size is to go to "Scale"->"Actual size" (there are several other options, like show 100%, or fit to width/height, etc.) Here's how it looks like on MM 2.4: http://i.imgur.com/j9asn.jpg I prefer using fit to width since it allows me to notice many details and thanks to really advance algorithms it allows for perfect zooming (lanczos filter, but there are other filters too if someone prefers) and is useful also for someone having small monitor/display (I have 21,5" but I still prefer it like this, maybe if I had 27" I would use to show 100%). As for the key binding, you can configure everything in a way you have in CDisplay. I've changed some things and it works perfectly. Some people for some reason couldn't do it in MM 2.4 (I think the ones with Win 7 or Vista) but in MM 7.4 you can do it without problems. Use this version for example (you an disable avisynth if you don't like what the plugins do): http://www.mediafire.com/?7depfx7tv1277m1

Yeah, maybe you would have to spend 5 minutes to configure but once you do it you have a perfect tool to view manga.

  6. Here is a list of default commands in MM 2.4

And here is a link to PicWalker. If you really don't want to spend 5 minutes to configure it, use PicWalker. It's much, much better than CDisplay (which I used long time ago since I didn't know there were much better programs). Continuos pages are already activated in this version (it's a version I'm using and I don't recommend trying to find installer version, I've only found sites with trojans like that).

  7. Okay, man. I´ll give MMCE 2.4 another try though I know I'm gonna spend an amusing time trying to configure it to do what CDisplay already does. Also FYI I have a PC running Win 7 64bits, a GeForce 9600GT video card and a 23 pol LCD monitor set to 1920x1080. It's not the best configuration but it's far from being a bad one.

  8. I also use CDisplay and I'm perfectly happy with it. Seriously don't know why Goral is so negative about it.
Ok, there are two minor issues. First - you can't save picture if it's located inside compressed folder, and second - sometimes (rarely) CDisplay resizes joined pages to fit the screen despite of original size. Other than that it has everything I need, just perfect little thing.

  9. It's not that I'm negative about it. I just know it's much worse than PicWalker or Manga Meeya. Why aren't you using Windows Picture Viewer? It also serves it's purpose after all. The difference between MM/PicWalker and CDisplay is as big as between CDisplay and Windows built in viewer.

Of course you can do what you like but with that kind if thinking no one would switch from Ubuntu 1 to 11 or Windows 95 to Windows 7 or from Paint to Gimp.

    ReplyDelete
  10. No offense Goral, but you sound little [censored] to me :) I mean, comparing CDisplay to Windows Viewer when I can hardly think about a single feature in CDisplay that would make viewing comics more comfortable.
I don't know these MM & PW viewers, and of course I can give them a shot, but... The point is CDisplay has ALL I need.

    ReplyDelete
  11. And you sound ignorant to me (no offence). You're talking about sth you have no idea of. I know CDisplay perfectly and I used it for quite some time so I know what flaws it has. The same attitude have people who are using Windows Picture Viewer. Why use CDisplay when WPV has all they need? So yes, it's such a huge difference between these two picture viewers as between CDisplay and Windows Picture Viewer. WPV can't read archived files, CDisplay can't. CDisplay can't read archives within the archives, MM and PicWalker can (MM can also read password protected files, CDisplay can't). CDisplay has crappy zooming function, MM has better than Photoshop. But let me make a list:

PicWalker is much smaller and uses less resources than CDisplay while at the same time has more options and Manga Meeya and PicWalker let you read more comfortably (the continuous pages option that I've mentioned about, if someone has never seen it he won't know how much better reading manga can become). MM and PW have smooth scrolling, not jumpy one as in CDisplay, which combined with continuous pages makes it perfect for viewing manga. MM and PW have thumbnails options which you can easily configure (especially in MM 7.4). MM has very advanced zoom function which is even better than in Photoshop (I'm not kidding, the lanczos filter I as talking about. Thanks to that even LQ scans can be fit to width and you'll be able to read what's written in a small font). In MM and PW you can easily save/copy pages. Both have built in graphic editor which CDisplay doesn't have and CDisplayEx has but is less advanced. You can do most of editing without using Gimp or PS. PicWalker has option of batch convert of files, e.g. if we have 1000 .png files and we would like to convert them to .jpg files it's no problem. You can customize key/mouse configuration as you like in both. PW can find duplicate files (which can be very useful when someone has thousands of Claymore images for example: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FAM6MBV2 ). Both MM and PW have slideshow option which you can configure as you like (so program scrolls for you). Both have "Favorites option" and you can bookmark where you left off (in PicWalker surpisingly it's better done than in MM even though it's much older and you can bookmark dozens of files) so that you will easily access the exact page of the exact file you want. They both have the hitory of recently opened files, e.g. last seen file was Berserk chapter 288 and after running the program it starts with that file (it depends on how you configure the program, it can do that or not). But what's even better it remembers exact pages of previous files, so if earlier I was on page 123 of Claymore volume 12 and I'll choose Claymore volume 12 it will go there (you can configure that also) !!! Which is really, really convenient. There are plugins (especially for MM, for PicWalker they're hard to find now) and skins. Like I said earlier, it can easily access archives in archives (or even archives in archives in archives, etc.). Installation isn't needed. It has also continuous pages modewhich is the main reason I loved these programs.

  12. Is that picwalker mediafire download link not working for anyone else? Page loads fine but the download just never comes up after clicking on the link.

If its busted i would appreciate a re-up, maybe to megaupload or a different site to be safe... The light on my pc's (limited)resources definitely sounds good.

Currently using default pic/fax viewer despite having CDisplay on my comp.(have read up on comic rack, never tried it) Though considering i just dl'ed irfanview(unrelated reason) i might just start using that if i cant get picwalker.

Thanks for the batch by the way.

  13. Hmm... You're right. For soem reason I can't download it from MF either. Here's Megaupload link. This one should work.

  14. Thanks for the re-up Goral, worked like a charm.

  15. MMCE 2.4 >>
Buged. Displayed page distorted after doing something trivial like minimize and maximize the program window also some pages are vertically cut after opening a file.
    MMCE 7.4 >>
Seems more promising and have more conventional commands however it is slow to start, at least in my laptop (maybe because of my antivirus) and have too much useless options, I'm still trying to figure out wich ones are really useful and how to address the right imputs to get them.

I'm getting bugs with both programs or I'm just doing things wrong.

Still the old CDisplay seems to be the best choice. By the way, I'm using CDisplay 1.8, it can save pages as files and make slideshows, if you want this feature so bad. However It's zoom implementation is shit.

  16. I use FastStone Image viewer

  17. Comicsviewer and Hamana, old but most well rounded viewers in terms of behaviour, ui and features.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I've used Hamana, wasn't bad but it still was nowhere near PicWalker or MM. It had lots of options but overall had less useful than PW and MM.

  19. Why ComicRack is worse than MM? I've been using it for some years now and it is feature rich with very good image processing. What I really love though, and can't find another program doing it so good, is the library feature. I've configure the program to watch my manga folder and a can quickly find any series I have, see what I have read and what I haven't, what was the last page that I read and may more organizing features. It even has a touch interface ;)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJICknxjG7M

And of course it has true manga reading support, meaning that for mangas it starts at the top right corner of a double page, left is next and right is previous, even the turning page animations are reversed. The only thing I did is that I enabled once at preferences\behavior both "right to left" options and when I add new manga at my library, I set at the manga info that it is manga read right to left. So when I read a manga automatically uses the right-left settings, but superman or spiderman comics are normal ;)

  20. For starters it uses more resources and "weighs" much more plus it requires NetFramework (which install file weighs 50 MB, and after installing much more). For someone who doesn't have Vista or Win 7 it's a bother. Both PicWalker and MM have even more options than Comic Rack and use much less resources and disk space. They also have libraries, bookmarks, etc. They also remember which page of each manga you've been on, etc.

  21. CDisplay, babe! All I need in one compact sexy package. Not even the EX version.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I use Faststone image viewer or CDisplay but I will switch if the one you present are better.

  23. CDisplay EX

because it supports 7zip while MM doesn't support it and no longer developed

still, CD-EX has some flaw, like it cannot open some image, maybe image with some characteristic, haven;t really checked it. Since half of my collection is 7zip, the only reasonable choice is CD_EX

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ok, I tried some comic readers.

I didn't bother with ComicRack because after it asked for NetFramework, I uninstalled it at once.

PicWalker is not reading popular comic formats like .cbr .cbz, so its completely useless.

MangaMeeya WIP is promising because at first glance it has some interesting features like reading PDFs and really nice scaling. But on the downside its bugged and has million unnessesary configuration options. Maybe only the Goral version is bugged, but it is displaying 2 joined pages VERTICALLY! When told to display 2 pages it shows 4 :)

So after some research, I'm back to old good CDisplay.

    ReplyDelete
  25. CDisplay here too. The only real flaw in CDisplay I can think of is the fact that it gets confused if you try to give it a PNG that some idiot has renamed to JPG or vice versa. I have a habit of reorganizing any manga I have so not being able to read archives in archives (which seems like lazy archiving to me but maybe someone has another reason to do it like that).

  26. For Mac I use Simple Comic. Does what it's supposed to do. Very practical. 5*

  28. thank you SO much for the info about Manga Meeya... i love it :D

i was using ACD See before but I stopped when the keygen dan patchfile don't work in window 7 T_T

i've been using Windows Picture Viewwer in the meanhile which is troublesome...otherwise, i'm stuck on reading online but it's not really a good solution for me since i like to download and keep manga that i followed.

    so, yeah... THANK YOU! :D

  29. I tried a lot of readers, A LOT, and I have come to the conclusion that more, is not always best.

The one for me is CDisplay.
